The aim of this meeting is to provide an overview of molecular testing applied to specimens routinely reported by histopathologists and cytopathologists. Molecular pathology is a rapidly advancing science that is already impacting clinical management of patients. It is directly relevant to pathologists in practice and in training who will need to be familiar with the indications, application and implications of a molecular diagnosis performed on histological and cytological specimens. This represents what we believe will be the first dedicated meeting of pathologists in the UK with an interest in molecular diagnosis.
